Waste Material Management
Domestic Sites Reinforce Efforts to Control the Generation of, and Reuse, Waste Materials
All domestic sites and four overseas sites achieved zero emissions in FY 2003. TDK improved its efforts in recycling qualitatively to achieve higher levels of zero emissions in 2004. As a result of its endeavors to reduce sludge (by controlling the generation of sludge), which accounts for the largest portion of total waste, TDK achieved a 9% reduction from the FY 2003 level.

Future Developments
TDK's waste management efforts thus far have been in recycling all waste materials generated. We will shift our focus to restraining the generation of, and reusing, waste materials so that we will generate no waste materials. TDK will aim at achieving higher-quality zero emissions.
