These compact, lightweight, energy-saving thermal heads use TDK’s structural design technologies to respond to demands for sets that operate at lower voltages (reduced from 5 V to 3.3 V). A change in the thin-film material enabled TDK to increase product life more than 30 times compared to earlier TDK products.
Main Environmental Impact Reduction Effects
- Improved structural design reduced size and weight (volume is 34% lower and weight is 41% lower compared to earlier TDK products).
- TDK developed an IC driver that consumes less electricity, reducing operating power by 63% (compared to earlier products).
- The thin-film material (heating resistor) was changed, increasing product life by more than 30 times compared to earlier products
