What makes electric cars move?
The moving force in such vehicles comes from an electric motor with a very powerful magnet.
Both electric cars and hybrid cars weigh a lot, usually over one ton. So their drive motors need to have plenty of muscle. Because electric motors get their rotating power from magnets, using stronger magnets is the key to getting more force to move the vehicle. Magnets used for this purpose are made of a special metal and are called neodymium magnets. TDK is one of the companies producing such high-performance magnets for eco cars.
