TDK Corporation expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the people and the community affected by the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake.

The following is the status of the TDK Group sites in Tohoku and Kanto regions as of April 8.
Based on Government’s announcement that rolling blackouts will not take place any more in principle, TDK has updated the information on its business sites.
The operation of the only Kitaibaraki Plant, resumed for about 50%. The status of the rest will become clear next week.
Besides, some production of some products may be affected by the supply chain of materials.

Another earthquake took place last night (April 7th) off the Pacific coast of Miyagi and caused blackouts in the entire Akita Prefecture, the home ground of TDK. There has been no damage to TDK’s people and manufacturing facilities within the region. The power has been restored for the most part already, and production is resuming as soon as the equipment is checked.
